Construction Office
The Borough Construction Office is responsible for ensuring all construction work in the Borough complies with the requirements of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. Residents are urged to contact the Construction Officer prior to beginning home improvement project to inquire if a permit is required.
Permits, applications and fees can be paid Monday through Friday during regular business hours 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Inspections
Please have your permit number available when calling to schedule an inspection. Calls for inspections must be received prior to 3:00 pm in order to schedule the inspection for the following day.
Building inspections are completed on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Electrical inspections are completed on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm..
Plumbing inspections are completed on Mondays and Wednesdays between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
Fire inspections are completed on Fridays between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Certificate of Occupancy Inspections
Pursuant to Borough Code 17.270-31 Certificate of Occupancy Inspections are required whenever a home is being sold.
To schedule a Certificate of Continued Occupancy inspection, please fill out the form below, and turn it into the Construction Office with the $75.00 fee. An inspector will reach out to you to schedule upon receipt. A checklist is also available for the most common items items looked at during an inspection. While this is not all inclusive, it will highlight many of the items that are looked for.

Rental Properties
If you are looking to rent the property you currently own in the Borough of Magnolia, please fill out and submit the following Landlord Registration Form. The cost to register as a landlord in the Borough of Magnolia is $25.00.
Tenant Updates are required each time a new tenant moves in. The cost to update your Tenant information is $15.00.
Property Taxes, Utilities, Special Charges, and Liens must be paid in full prior to renting a property in the Borough of Magnolia.
Certificate of Continued Occupancy inspections occur once per year, and are scheduled following payment of your rental invoice.

Foreclosed/Vacant Property Registration/Complaints
Borough of Magnolia has partnered with Hera Property Registry, LLC to administer its Foreclosure and Vacant Property Registration program. In order to comply with the Ordinance, all Owners/Mortgagees/Trustees must register online via HERA Property Registry and pay a registration fee.
